It doesn’t get more romantic than a red wedding! But wait, let us rephrase that – it doesn’t get more romantic than this red and dusty blue wedding at The Villa in San Juan Capistrano. The intimate setting paired with tall candelabras, red roses, and a couple who couldn’t take their eyes off of one another resulted in a beautiful, fairytale-like day. Mink Photography was lucky enough to capture all the stunning couple themselves and all the details that went into making their day just right. Scroll through the beautiful photos below and read a bit more about Liz & Ryan’s love story…

Liz and Ryan are one of those couples that you just can’t help but to love and feel inspired by. Getting to know them was just another reminder of why I love what I do so much. Their love for each other radiates and anyone who is around them for even a second can feel it.
They met briefly at a mutual friends’ birthday party a few years ago. Ryan finally got up the courage to ask Liz for her phone number and the rest is history. They spent nearly every waking moment together since that evening.
Ryan proposed around Valentine’s Day 2016 and got down on one knee in one of the most authentic ways possible. It was a full moon (Liz is obsessed with full moons) and he asked Liz if she’d like to go to the beach. However, she was freezing because February in SoCal can be pretty chilly. So instead they went on a walk and Liz knew instantly that he was going to ask her. Ryan, knowing that Liz is the type of person to want to know everything before it happens, decided to wait until afterwards. They got back home and Liz was actually bummed. But Ryan wanted to at least surprise her a little bit! When they got back he got on one knee and, of course, Liz was excited to say YES in the comfort of their home.
Next, they began to plan their wedding at The Villa in San Juan Capistrano. This venue was the perfect fit for them and their friends and family. It’s quaint, romantic, and outdoors. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect day. That week, shockingly, the forecast called for rain. This never happens in SoCal but Liz never let it bother her. When the day came it rained for maybe a couple of minutes before their first look and the rest of the day was filled with soft light from the clouds.
They filled the space with romantic tones of reds, burgundy, pinks, and greens accompanied by tall candles. It was absolutely stunning!
I love the colors 🙂
The cutest!
Love the red!
What a pretty venue!
