You won’t be able to take your eyes off of this couple and their beautiful Malibu pregnancy announcement! The mama to-be shows off her tiny baby bump in not one, but two, beautiful gowns in not one, but two again, stunning Malibu locations; the creek & the beach. To make their announcement a little more obvious, the pair chose tiny baby moccasins, a onesie, and a special wooden sign. Them & their props were the focus of Angelica Marie’s lens all afternoon long, and we think she captured them beautifully! What a wonderful way to announce a baby on the way!
Expecting Mama and florist, Amne of Julep Bloom Design, says, I wanted to incorporate a touch of our Japanese culture into our baby announcement. Both my husband and I are each half Japanese and these white tiny clusters of flowers along with soft white ranunculus made for the sweetest bouquet to share the upcoming arrival of our little one. When planning florals, I love to use movement and texture. The florals also feature Japanese spirea (Spiraea japonica) that reminds me of our most recent trip to Japan.
The ocean has always felt like our natural home. It sounds a bit crazy but my first home as a baby was on a sailboat, and we both grew up in the PNW surrounded by water and islands. We were married barefoot in the sands of Laguna Beach, so naturally Malibu beach was the perfect setting for our baby announcement as well. With an outdoor spirit and love of hiking we also picked Malibu Creek for a portion of the shoot.
Angelica did an amazing job capturing these moments and was so much fun to work with! And of course, we can’t wait for baby Nagamatsu to arrive this summer!
