Springtime Engagement Photos in an Almond Orchard

When your photographer’s family offers up their almond orchard for your engagement session – “YES!” is always the answer! This couple and Alexandra from Daphnae Mae Photography met in the scenic spot for what became these stunning springtime engagement photos! The bride shares how he proposed…

I knew Ben was the one I was going to marry four months into our relationship. Not many people are romantics anymore, and Ben has those qualities in spades. Not to mention he made me laugh more than anyone I’d ever met. So it came as no surprise that almost two years later, he decided to get on one knee and ask me to spend the rest of my life with him. What was a surprise? The whole plan he set into place to ask me.

I was scheduled to fly to New Jersey for work the day after New Years. Ben knows how much I love New York City so we decided to make a vacation out of it. After my work was finished, we were to spend 5 nights on the edge of Central Park. Ben found the most beautiful hotel. Our first day in NYC Ben surprised me with a carriage ride through Central Park, something I have never done before. Half way through the ride our driver stops by a gorgeous fountain and asks if we’d like to take some pictures. Ben leads me over to the fountain and takes a book out of his bag. This wasn’t any typical book though. This was a 30 page pictorial collage of our whole relationship. Each page offered a different trip, or a different inside joke. The very last page was a picture of Ben on one knee holding a ring box asking me to marry him. Behind tears, I closed the book and found Ben on his knee holding the most gorgeous ring I’ve ever seen. A ring he designed himself.

Saying I responded with an excited YES is an understatement. The best part? Our carriage driver got the whole proposal on video.
