Get ready to party, or at least pretend you are, because this animal circus first birthday bash on our baby blog today is a whole lot of fun. Dare we say double the fun? The backyard circus celebrated two adorable twin boys! Their mom, Taleen, just so happens to be an event planner (ahem Simple Little Details) so we aren’t surprised by the grandeur of the day. With TWO little boys she had to go all out. She shares all the little details – pun intended – with us here!
I am fortunate enough to plan celebrations for my clients every day, but to be able to plan my own twin boys first birthday was such an amazing experience. Shant & Nshan have brought so much joy in our lives so I wanted it to be a beautiful celebration where every little detail was thought through. I decided on a circus theme, but since their birthday was in the fall I wanted to bring in some rustic elements and fall colors.
As guests arrived to our house they were greeted by a custom made circus sign and a bucket of clown noses to prepare them to “clown around” when they entered the party! They were amazed by the transformation of the backyard. For dining tables, I used a mix of tall farm tables and round tables with a red and white striped linen. The crossback chairs added a perfect rustic touch. Florals were also colorful with a touch of whimsy and sat on top of each table.
The dessert table was the highlight of the party. We had old barn walls we attached marquee letters to to say ONE. The desserts themselves continued with the circus theme. We also had a fun popcorn bar with different flavors of popcorn and bags for guests to fill up. The favors were glass jars that we filled with gumballs. We also attached circus animals to the top of the jars and spray painted them gold. The drink station consisted of 2 different punches. It also showcased fun glasses that were embellished with circus animal cut outs as well as paper straws.
There were a lot of kids at the party so we wanted to make sure there was plenty of entertainment. We brought in carnival games, spin art, face painting, and a clown! All the kids had big smiles on their faces the entire party. It was an amazing party! Most of all, I can’t wait to share the photos with my twin boys when they grow up!
