Floral seems to be a trend in nurseries these days – and we’re totally OK with it. Why not fill your baby girl’s room with pretty petal patterns? Cristin, mom to baby Scottie, and lifestyle blogger at The Southern Style Guide, gives us a tour of her daughter’s adorable pink and navy nursery. And, boy, do we love it!

I love interior design so when we found out we were having another girl I immediately started planning her sweet nursery. Decorating is something I have always enjoyed tinkering with but I am by no means trained in the proper way to tackle a room makeover. So these may be totally wrong but here are some easy steps I follow as well as some photos of the bright & floral nursery I created for our precious baby girl.
1. Find an item (or two) that you totally love that represents the overall theme you want to achieve. These will be your key pieces when decorating that you should always refer back to when picking out additional pieces. For me, those items were the bedding and the pearl wallpaper. I became obsessed with it while trolling around Instagram one day!
2. Next, start to develop a color scheme around those items. This will help you focus in on other items you want to decorate with. Since I was working with a sweet blush color and a feminine pearl I knew I wanted to pull in some greys or blues to accent those light pieces and make it not overly girly.
Bookshelf, Blackout Curtains, Navy & Pink Rug, Coral Cow Print, Numbered Wire Baskets
Dresser, Glider, Sheepskin Rug, Moccasins, Letters & Blooms Banner
3. After that, pull in some accent pieces that match the items you picked out and the color scheme you created. Personally, I create a photo stream so that I can easily make sure everything looks good together. I was a little concerned with how I was going to make a floral wallpaper and floral bedding look good together. Then, in a drastic turn of events I scored a beautiful FLORAL pink and navy rug. It was too good of a deal to pass up! Now I was stuck with 3 different floral items. So, in an effort to tie everything together I picked as many neutral and modern (read plain) items as possible.
She is so precious! And this nursery is perfect!
