Our IBT mamas have given and been given some pretty great gifts when they had their babies and know that it can be difficult to find the right thing to give a mom-to-be. If you’re attending a baby shower this summer or want to welcome a friend or family member’s new babe with a present, these are sure ways to gift a new mom something she’ll love and use all the time.
“I’ve always used the boppy with my kiddos. The last 2 babies I used a boppy for nursing and for tummy time. I got a cute cover from Pottery Barn. This time I’m trying out the lounger. I’ve always wanted one because it’s so great to be able to have the little one just sit next to you on the bed or couch when you are done feeding the baby and its time for mom and babe to take a break. It’s comfy for baby and small enough that I can take it around with me wherever I go rather than lugging a huge gadget to put them in.” — Leila
2. Lamaze toys
“These are my favorite!! All my kids have loved them. They were gifted to me with my first baby and now I just collect as many as I can. The little soft books that can squeak and squish are perfect for the first few months and as they get older they grow into playing with all their other toys like my fave rainbow rings and the musical octopus!” — Leila
“This playmat is perfect for tummy time! My little one is 6.5 months old and starting to explore crawling, and my hardwood floors are not ideal for this new adventure! This playmat is soft and textured. We use it for tummy time, sitting up to play with toys and we put her bouncer on it for a padded surface. It’s also double sided, so you can choose from the more playful side or the more sophisticated design!” — Ashley
“Introducing your baby to solid foods is a bit of a daunting task… especially for a first time mom! I love to cook, but I was a little overwhelmed at making sure I was preparing my baby’s food the right way, and at the amount of time I’d spend prepping and making purees. Enter the One-Step Baby Brezza – when I found this product I know it was a must-have. In less than 15 minutes it’ll steam the food and blend it into a puree. And did I mention it does all of that in the same bowl so you only have one dish to wash?! Mind. Blown.” — Ashley
“A cute diaper bag is on every new mom’s list! We love this plum bag from Twelve Little mainly for all of the compartments. It’s ideal for carrying all the things. They carry a ton of colors so you can definitely find something the mom you’re shopping for will love.” — Ashley
“I’ve used bassinets and a Pack ‘N play for my previous 2 kids but now with baby 3 coming in 7 weeks I’m all about the Halo Swivel Sleeper. It’s the only baby bassinet that rotates a full 360. This is going to be such a game changer when I have to get up multiple times at night to feed the little guy and I can just roll him close to me and not actually have to get up and down out of bed. A few of it’s features I’m excited about that you need to know:
It has a night light, white noise, floor light, vibration option, nursing timer, and a storage caddy to hold all the things I need like diapers, wipes, lots of onesies!!” — Leila
“Both of us moms in-office have this bathtub and LOVE it. It has a digital thermometer for the water temperature, a clean water in-dirty water out filtering system and can be used in your home bathtub. All things needed to put a new mama’s mind at ease when bathing her babe!” — Leila
8. Baby Books
“Baby Boy Bakery just came out with this journal and I love it! So many awesome pages to track likes, dislikes, growth, and so much more. Baby’s First Year book by Lucy Darling (she carries the cutest baby things like this & this too!) is another great option full of adorable illustrations. Mindy Weiss’ keepsake book is one of our favorites as well – it’s incredibly comprehensive but you can add and take away pages as well. These are great gifts for moms-to-be and something they will always be able to look back on!” — Leila
“I’m a huge Ergo fan. I have the 4 position 360 and the 4 Position 360 Cool Air baby carrier. One of them my husband wears so it’s adjusted to his body with all the straps and the other is adjusted for me to wear with my kids.
BUT now the new Adapt Carrier as been released and I have to say I am excited to use this one with baby number three coming so soon. The 360 is great because there is a time when baby will want to be turned around and the Adapt carrier offers an option to carry my newborn until he is a toddler ergonomically with the convenience of 3 carry positions. No infant insert needed! This is my favorite thing about this new carrier since with the other carriers you do need an insert for an infant.” — Leila
10. 4moms High Chair
“This chair is a game changer. For real though. It has a magnetic tray that you can remove and attach with one hand. I have one and I use it with my 16 month old. I’ve used a lot of different high chairs and so far this one has been the best for me. The top tray is machine washable and it has a set of bowls, flatware and cups that are magnetic too so that baby won’t push the bowl off the tray or throw his cup of milk on the floor. He also likes to play with picking it up and setting it down on the magnetic tray. It has saved me a lot more time and effort from bending down and cleaning up like I used to. AND it can hold up to 60 lbs so my toddler loves to hop in it too.” — Leila
