The prettiest bridal shower brunch is gracing our wedding blog today! Teal Minisofer, of The Well Styled Life, surprised her best friend with this gorgeous gathering of all the bride-to-be’s best ladies. Complete with a donut bar, ‘flower market’, and the prettiest lavender and cream centerpieces we ever did see, this shower should win her friend of the year award. Read on for how she executed the surprise.
Teal shares, When your best friend of 14 years is a wedding designer, you would expect your bridal shower to be something special. Last fall, Linzy (bride) moved with her then boyfriend across the country after a job change. They purchased their first home together and within a few short months, Patrick was proposing to Linzy on top of a mountain in Iceland. As amazing as this time of her life was for Linzy, having just moved, she had none of her girlfriends to share in the experience with. Because of that, it only made sense that over the few times Linzy would fly back home, we (her group of girl friends) were going to make sure she felt celebrated and supported through this exciting time.
How it happened: Linzy was flying home for a short period of time to go skiing with her family. Teal (friend and wedding designer) found an afternoon where Linzy was free and asked her to keep it open so just the two of them could enjoy an afternoon together. Over the next month, Teal met with supply companies, stationary designers, florists and hair and make up to come up with a design that would reflect the bride and her personality perfectly. After that, she organized a group of Linzy’s closest girl friends and told them about the surprise shower making sure everyone was free.
Linzy arrived at Teal’s house at 2:00 pm that day. As soon as she arrived, Teal told her she had a surprise waiting for her upstairs. When Linzy walked into the master bathroom she saw a hair and makeup artists fully set up and ready to greet her. Linzy at this point had no idea what was going on and Teal told her to not ask questions and go with the flow. The hair and makeup artist asked Linzy how she wanted to look and feel and created a hair and beauty look around that.
While this was happening, all the girls arrived quietly and set themselves up in the kitchen ready to surprise Linzy. After the photography session was done, Teal went upstairs and told Linzy that there was one more surprise. Teal brought Linzy down the stairs and positioned her in the kitchen and told her to open her eyes. The photos show her reaction perfectly. The surprise went off without a hitch. After the surprise the girls all helped themselves to a mimosa bar, the donut bar, each picked flowers and made a bouquet/arrangement to take home, cut the cake and had a sit down tea and brunch to catch up and celebrate this new chapter in Linzy’s life.
