Punta Cana Destination Wedding

This gorgeous beachfront affair on our wedding blog today is transporting us to Punta Cana. Warning: you may daydream of sparkly blue water and rose filled bird cages after scrolling through Asia Pimental’s gorgeous images.

Never have truer words been spoken – Brian and Gina are high school sweethearts who were truly made for each other. Gina says she still gets that giddy schoolgirl feeling when she thinks back about her high school crush – Brian, “the popular boy”.

The two planned their dream destination wedding off the coast of the Dominican Republic, in the beautiful area of Punta Cana. The brunette bombshell looked absolutely stunning in her lace, white Casablanca wedding gown, Givenchy jewelry and halo headpiece. Brian looked just as handsome in a sleek grey vest, slacks and tie.

The ceremony was held at a little slice of paradise in Punta Cana – the Jellyfish Restaurant. A gorgeous set-up on the beach with rustic lanterns, candles and an ethereal white canopy with a chandelier set the stage for the couple to say, “I do!”

Our theme was secret garden meets midnight summer dream. I was inspired by whites, pinks, peaches and lots of greenery with mixed metal accents.  I wanted it to appear whimsical and romantic with candles, lanterns, hidden butterflies and hanging bird cages filled with flowers.

Brian and I choose Jellyfish for our love of the beach and outdoors. The open to air setup was so natural and clean feeling. Being able to walk barefoot in the sand, feel the sun on our faces and hear the water in the distance was all we ever dreamed of. Jellyfish is truly a secret hidden gem.

During our ceremony we exchanged our own written vows which were very important to us. We had a love locket ceremony and later a balloon release in memory of my late father. It was an emotional and beautiful ceremony. At the reception, we surprised our guests with crazy hour and the fire show.  They loved it! This was so much fun and entertained everyone.
