We love this alternative New Year’s Eve party idea! What’s more fitting, than ringing in the new year with (various types of) champagne and good friends. Not only is this champagne tasting a fun & creative party but with Alissa Noelle Photography at the helm, it’s beautiful too. Cheers!
From Alissa, For New Years this year, I wanted to do an inspiration shoot that was unique and different but without the stress of decorating. How can we make a small NYE party that is simple, easy and chic without bursting the budget? Then I thought, tastings! I, for one, LOVE wine/champagne tastings and anything boho chic. So, with the amazing talent and help from calligrapher, A Fabulous Fete + florist, Beautiful Savage flowers, we put together this trendy inspiration shoot for anyone looking to host their own NYE get together in their home/backyard.
With tastings, you want a good variety of dry, extra dry, rose and more. For sparkling wine, we decided to use: Champagne Brut, Extra Dry, Rose and my personal favorite, Prosecco (Italian sparkling wine). If you want to add more tastings, Cava (Spanish sparkling wine) is a great one to start with as well. Then we paired them with cheese (Manchego + sharp cheddar cheese), grapes and bread. Party favors are cute little boxes with candies for each guest (Chocolate usually goes great after sparkling wine). The table setting was boho inspired. With the use of Anthropologie dishes, Crate + Barrel Flutes and a black crochet blanket instead of a traditional table cloth. Keeping the florals in the color tone of fall is what helps balance the summer boho decor and fall look. Little card stock papers were used as name tags for each sparkling wine and for notes on a side table for guest to write what their New Year resolution will be. Simple solid colored hand towels were used to wrap a! round the bottles as you pour them for your guest so that the condensation doesn’t water it down. And touches of glitter in a bottle to represent the new year. Voilà! You’ve just created a chic way to ring in the new year!
