This barn wedding on our blog today is straight out of a fairy tale! Set in a
wooden barn chapel covered in candles and flowers, this woodsy wedding will make your heart melt. The ceremony and reception space were transformed by the bride and groom’s family and friends with draped chandeliers, baby’s breath,
burlap and homegrown succulents! The result was one beautiful affair. Melissa and Phillip began their relationship on his two week break between Iraqi tours and let their relationship develop over phone booths and skype sessions. After 4 years, they decided to spend the rest of their lives together. They wed in a quaint little California town at
Union Hill Inn set in the middle of rustic scenery that so inspired their special day. Read on for a a glimpse into the bride’s vision!
I’ve always been inspired by many of the great film photographers and the beautiful weddings that are captured behind their lenses. I seemed to look at my wedding on how i’d like to see it in picture or film form. I love those soft photographs and the perfect use of light. I wanted my wedding to be inspired by some of those photographs i had fallen in love with, and yet be a wedding that still was our own and represented both me, and my husband. I loved all the soft colors and use of greenery and wanted that type of rustic elegance to be the main focus of our decor. We added a lot of mercury glass, lace, burlap, and flowers to create our look. My idea of my perfect wedding was one that was both rustic and elegant, while creating an intimate romantic setting for my guests. I wanted that intimate feeling where each guest felt that they were an important part of both our relationship and our wedding day. I loved the cozy little chapel, with its perfectly whitewashed walls and wooden pews. It was exactly the feel i was going for.
