Whimsical Pastel Estate Wedding

This wedding day on our wedding blog today will give you all the feels. From the pastel decor, to the look on the bride’s & groom’s faces every time they were together, it’s a romantic, special affair. We love how their personalities shine through every aspect of their day. The touch of whimsy, classic elegance, and laid back feel they were going for was expertly achieved. This wedding was such a special occasion to photograph. Gretchen and Ryan are such an easy going couple who love each other so so much! They got married at her parents house on the side of a hill overlooking all of North County, San Diego. The maid of honor and bride worked so hard to transform the house in to a whimsical, magical venue. As the sunset, the the lights from North County just gave it an even more magical feel.

Leading up to the wedding, it was difficult to pinpoint a theme. We hoped to avoid fads and specific styles (such as rustic, vintage, etc). Instead, we were inspired by the feelings we hoped to evoke. We wanted to create a whimsical, magical, relaxed elegance sort of feel, and I think we were successful in that.

There are so many great memories from our wedding day. One of my favorites, that I hope I always remember, is my husband and my pure joy during the ceremony. We didn’t do a first look, so finally reaching him at the end of the aisle was amazing. We were both overcome with happiness and in awe that after 6 years, this was really happening, we were finally getting married.
