When the bride’s mother talked to me about her idea for the shower, she said she wanted it to be travel-inspired. The bride and groom travel all the time and were going to Spain & Portugal, so she was hoping to incorporate their love for travel in the theme. I turned to vintage travel posters from the 1950’s and 1960’s – I loved the vibrant colors. The result was a modern, colorful travel shower with a color palette of coral, raspberry, aqua, pale yellow, and lime.
For the paper, Stone Fruit designed a graphic invitation that was shaped like an airline boarding pass. It included a custom airline logo and stamp incorporating the bride’s initials and event information. The envelopes were also custom designed and printed on ice blue paper. Finally, as a nod to the bride’s love of music, we chose the colorful John Lennon stamp.
Our escort card and favor display was one of my favorite details of the day. Stone Fruit created custom graphics for each table, which was named after a city the couple had traveled to, such as Prague, Budapest, and London. Each escort card was inserted into luggage tags from Leather and Letter on Etsy. The guests were so excited to search for their luggage tag and then take them home as their favors.
Our table numbers were inspired by airline checked baggage tags. And our dessert & beverage menus listed our “In Flight Sweets” and “In Flight Beverages.” For dessert, we served custom colored macarons, cakesicles, and a colorful wedding cake that emulated stucco from Spain.
Flowerwell designed gorgeous arrangements incorporating our color palette. The flowers were arranged in the most lovely deep blue ceramic vases. She incorporated Butterfly & Regular Ranunculus, Italian Poppies, French Tulips, Ferns, daffodils, with splashes of clementines, limes, and lemons. She also created lush garlands of greenery which hung on our escort card display and the chandeliers in the room.
