This athletic couple (her an olympic synchronized swimmer, him a professional lacrosse player) said ‘I Do’ in a magical setting in the hills of Topanga, CA. Their rustic burgundy mountainside wedding features a stunning fall/winter color palette with pops of purple and gold, which stand out beautifully against the woodsy, greenery-filled venue. Below, the photographers, Susie & Will, walk us through every stunning step of the day…

On December 2nd, 2017, Jenna and Jeremy were married in the mountains at wedding venue The 1909 in Topanga, CA. Jenna is a 2x Olympic synchronized swimmer who went to both Beijing 2008 and London 2012 summer games. Jeremy is the midfielder for the Denver Outlaws lacrosse team. Their wedding features a beautiful amphitheater that was held in the mountains surrounded by a lush canopy of California oak tree. In true California fashion, their winter wedding had the most wonderful weather – clear skies and a warm breeze. To add a little bit of winter flair, their color palette included deep and rich colors such as gold and burgundy. Jenna wore a Olvi’s dress which had a soft lace bodice and an illusion back with lace buttons. Jenna’s bridesmaids wore lilac grey dresses from TFNC London which featured a deep V-cut back with a sateen bow.
Jenna and Jeremy started the day getting ready at the venue. When they were both finished getting ready, prior to ceremony, they had a brief but sweet “First Touch,” where they held each other’s hands without seeing each other, only separately by a door.
Following their First Touch, the couple finally saw each other as Jenna walked down the aisle, accompanied by her father. Their dinner was held in the outdoor meadow adjacent to the ceremony site, which had rope lighting, Italian cypresses surrounding the reception space, and red wood tables and chairs. After dinner, the wedding was moved to the indoor reception hall where Jenna and Jeremy had their first dance. Their dessert table, which prominently featured their wedding cake, was filled with a variety of petite desserts as well as a tower of donuts.
