From happy hour in a quaint cafe to exploring the beautiful scenery of New York, this couple’s shoot is effortlessly beautiful! The photographer, Minh at Du Soleil Photographie, captured the spark between the couple as they wandered favorite spots in their city. And, dare we say that these two have the sweetest connection that we have ever seen (virtually of course)! Just look at the smiles and gazes they exchange… I mean, come on?! Their lifestyle engagement photos in NYC are almost as beautiful as their laid-back love story.
Minh shares, Dana is an Interior Designer and Steven is a Teacher, but they met while they were…serving tables 🙂 Dana said, “I thought he was super cute, his eyes drew me in and you could tell he was a genuine person.” For Steven, he was just amazed at how Dana interacted with people, stranger or friend. “She displayed a kindness that I was really drawn to,” Steven said, “Oh yeah, her smile and laugh hooked me in as well.”
Their love is fun and effortless. Their favorite date was hanging out at a cafe and attempting a crossword which they had to look up every answer for, then walking in the snow on unplowed roads to a chocolate shop and wrapping up with a visit to a planetarium. They love going to new places and trying new things together. Riding their bikes in NYC and laughing at simple things are also their favorite past-times.
Dana and Steven got engaged in Ireland on the Cliff of Moher. Dana said, “We were walking back towards the Visitors Center and a storm was coming in, no one was around and he asked me to look out a the water away from him so he could take a photo, then I turned around and he was on his knee. I cried.”
Hanging out with these two was easy and fun. Dana and Steven wanted to have an engagement session that reflects their lifestyle, so we decided to spend part of the session at Milk and Roses, their favorite local café in Brooklyn. This lovely spot had a beautiful backyard for some outdoor sitting, which was perfect for us. We each ordered a cocktail and spent just about an hour there before we headed to Long Island City for a few photos with the Manhattan skyline. Our last stop was Central Park where we took a stroll through Bethesda Fountain while admiring the beautiful architectural details throughout the park. Dana and Steven loved a painting they had of a couple strolling on Literary Walk, so they wanted to create a version of their own.
Aren’t they the cutest?!
