Couples Camping Shower

We’re super excited to share something a little different on the blog today…a couples shower! Rhiannon from Hey Gorg Events was approached by one of her bride’s mother asking to help put together an event for about 100 people, guys and girls included. Since the shower would need to appeal to both men and women she came up with a camping theme and thought up fun ways to infuse this into the celebration without breaking the bank. Some of the details included red gingham dinner napkins, a sign she crafted out of a big piece of siding that read Camp Saldana Sirhan (the bride and groom’s last names) which they hung at the entrance to the party over the dessert table, potted succulents and birch bark vase centerpieces. Scattered across the tables are fun tin vases of ferns, cotton, pine cones and sola flowers, and then a cozy lounge was set up around the bonfire pit where people could enjoy their s’mores favors at the end of the night. The meal was a yummy catered selection of BBQ meats and sides and the dessert bar was also camping themed with mini s’mores cupcakes, caramel praline cake truffles on wooden sticks and cornbread cake in a jar treats that tied in nicely with the BBQ; not to mention the little jars had matching monogram tags on top that corresponded with the other paper products and signage. They also had ‘Fresh Lake Water’ (bottles of water), ‘Camping Cokes and Cocktails’ (wine and pop) and ‘Dude Fuel’ (kegs) set up around the yard for people to enjoy! A white tent strung with bistro lights sat on the property, where people sat throughout the night, talking and laughing by the candlelight when the sun began to set.
