Millie and Jonathan are two sweet souls with a deep passion for art and creativity that draws them together. These two are lovers of out-of-town adventures, so we snuck away to the quiet space of Saguaro Lake in Arizona for a relaxed and stunning setting. Knowing the surroundings would be so beautiful, Millie and Jonathan went with soft, neutral colors (with one exception–a pop of red lipstick) that wouldn’t be distracting to the colors of the desert and mountains, and to allow for their love to be the true focus of the shoot. Having a long distance relationship, Jonathan has been sending Millie sweet packages since their relationship began from creative pieces made by hand (he’s a graphic designer) to articles of his favorite styles for her to wear. The hat Millie is wearing is one of the very first pieces Jonathan mailed to her from his home in Chicago, so it plays a special role in their relationship. Charity Maurer shot these images while Jonathan visited from Chicago, and soon, they will get to be in the same state. Until then, these images are visual reminders of the deep love they share for one another–even from states away.
