When Alyssa’s, from Mae Photo Co., question, “Who says you can’t have floral everything?” becomes the concept for an entire photoshoot, you know it’s going to be good! Honestly, that’s all we needed to know to fall in love with this garden greenhouse wedding inspiration – that there would be tons of florals! Not only fresh blooms, but also in the applique on the dress and the icing on the cake. Also, the fact that it takes place in a greenhouse is pretty amazing in and of itself! Alyssa shares more about what sparked the inspiration for this beautiful shoot below!
This wedding is all things fresh, timeless and blissful. My name is Alyssa Schultz and I am the one behind the camera at Mae Photo Co. The inspiration behind the day came from Joan (the brilliant florist from Merci Beaucoup) and her love for french details and my love for photographing all things floral and bright. We walked into the greenhouse with the smell of fresh dirt and new blossoms and we transformed the space into an elegant french garden party with hanging greenery of Texas Smilax, flourishing details and unique combinations of furniture and floral design.
We took a new approach to a greenhouse wedding and gave it an elegant twist and used a unique color palette full of blue hues and pops of orange and pink. Our eclectic look was really tied together with the florals as well as the vintage mismatched dishes brought to us by Gigi & LaClede. The vintage dishes really stood out against the textured tin table top. The table top was a statement piece that screamed french garden party. The floral dishes were the perfect compliment to our dress choice.
The Lazaro #3759 has a timeless and ornate feeling with a subtle floral pattern throughout the entire dress. I am a huge fan of floral patterns, and with the fresh feeling of the greenhouse it was only fitting. As you can see, we say yes to all things floral: floral wedding dress, floral tie, floral cake, floral venue, floral dishes, and incredible floral arrangements with white french tulips, orange butterfly ranunculus and light pink spray garden roses. Who says you can’t have floral everything?
Some of the most lovely details that had a large impact were the Aquamarine gemstone ring designed just for this shoot by RAW by Olivia Mar, the blue silk ribbon from Adorn Company, the arch of Texas Smilax surrounding the three tiered cake and hanging over the table, the DIY air plant favors, the colorful macarons, the ornate blue vintage vases, and the beautiful calligraphy on the paper goods and individual tile place cards.
A greenhouse wedding is my dream I love this!
