This lucky couple won their engagement session via an Instagram contest – and rightfully so! Their long distance love story captured the hearts of all the vendors involved and allowed them to come together in California for a mid-century modern engagement shoot that was totally worth it. Kelsey Rae Designs & the ladies at Two Sisters Farms came together to create a bright, fun, and most-importantly, unforgettable photoshoot for Jenna Joseph to capture.
Jenna shares, It all started with Jenny + Alisa at Two Sisters Farms. They were thinking about how all of these sweet couples were getting engaged over the holidays and thought it would be the perfect time to bless a lucky bride and groom to-be with an engagement session at the farm. Jenny contacted me about the idea and I wanted to be a part of it. My first thought was to pull my friend Kelsey Rae Designs in as well, because I knew together we could all do something great. She agreed to jump in, and the vision blossomed from there! Together, Kelsey and Jenny orchestrated a team of 13 creative businesses to shower our couple with gifts – florals, jewelry, skin care, and so much more.
We announced the giveaway on Instagram, not sure what would happen, and the entries came pouring in. One couple stood out from the very beginning – Sydney and Kyle. When it came time to make the decision to choose a winner, the vendors unanimously sent in these two names. Their love story is moving and powerful, and their proposal story actually brought me to tears as I sat on my couch with my cell phone in hand watching it from YouTube. They’ve conquered time and distance and their love has grown through it all, only to prove how strong they are together.
Kyle is a pilot in the military, currently in New Mexico and Sydney dances professionally in New York. They’re always conjuring up their next adventure and counting down the days until they get to meet again. This engagement shoot became another fun countdown until they got to be together, so it really touched us all to be a part of something that special for them! They each flew out to California, and what began as a day of styling and shooting ended as a day together with friends and a dinner with good company.
Photographing the two of them was a blast as we bounced around the farm! They laughed contagiously and danced, almost with no direction needed. It was as if I was just following them along as they directed the shoot themselves – pretty incredible.
