Who wouldn’t want to celebrate their wedding in an Italian castle? C’mon!! These special nuptials were influenced by Puglia’s stunning countryside, full of olive groves and lemon trees. Lisa at Storybook Chicago incorporated those natural elements into their decor – not that much was needed to adorn this stunning (and we mean, stunning) venue. Take a deep breath now, because by the end of this page, its beauty will leave you breathless!
Lisa says, Natalia and James began their love story when they met studying abroad in Paris. They met in an international relations course and began dating almost instantly. During their fall break they decided to take a trip to Italy together and went to Chocolate Festival held in Perugia. Ever since that trip Umbria was “their” place. After they got engaged they knew they wanted to celebrate their marriage in the fall in Umbria.
Hotel La Badia is one of the most historic and beautiful hotels and wedding venues in the region. With the classic brick Etruscan archway that frames the countryside filled with cyrus tree, olive groves, and vineyards there is not a more stunning and romantic place to get married.
They were inspired by the nature in the region and used olives and lemons as a catalyst for their tablescape design. Lilla BeSpoke Floral integrated the lemons and olives with classic Italian greenery, antique gold candelabras, and soft peaches and yellows with the florals.
This beautiful day was captured by local fine art photographers, Andrea and Federica Photography. They played with the shadows of the day, all encompassing nature of the venue, and the drama of the historic structure to capture Natalia and James on their wedding day.
