One look at this classic Biltmore Ballroom wedding and we were in love! The couple radiates love for one another, the decor is timeless and elegant, and the photos by Abigail Thomas are STUNNING. We don’t blame the bride for falling in love with this Atlanta venue either. Biltmore Ballrooms not only inspired the classic theme, but captured the essence of the day perfectly. Does it get more elegant than chandeliers dripping with crystals and walls draped in gold?! Below, Abigail shares a bit more about the special day, as does the bride herself! We hope you love it as much as we do…
Anna & Curtis have the kind of love that jumps straight off of the page and into your heart. You can tell that they were made for one another, and that their wedding day truly was the happiest day of their lives. Anna, a fabric designer for the children’s clothing company Oshkosh, is such a visionary when it comes to planning and design (no surprise there). When she began dreaming of her wedding day, she knew that she wanted it to be classic and upscale, while also still feeling like every person there was enveloped in their love.
Anna says, “I fell in love with Biltmore Ballrooms when I lived above it in Atlanta. I knew immediately I didn’t want to get married anywhere else. It was so stunning that it didn’t need much to enhance its beauty. I decided on a classic color scheme of black, white, and gold that would never go out of style, and the colors fit perfectly with the long, black bridesmaids’ dresses I found.”
Anna also designed all of the signage and the beautiful invitation suite, which included a hand-drawn map for out-of-town guests to find their way easily. She says her favorite detail of the day had to be the getaway car that her dad rebuilt (yep, you read that right), for their departure. There were so many incredible moments throughout the day that encompassed the love that surrounds Anna and Curtis. However, Anna’s favorite was driving away while looking back at all of the people that love them. I mean, does it get any sweeter?!
With nods to classic style like baby’s breath bridesmaid’s bouquets, garland on the railing of the traditional ceremony space, and a cathedral length veil, Anna and Curtis’ wedding day will forever be timeless. Curtis and his groomsmen looked dapper in suits, while the bridesmaids looked effortlessly elegant in their floor-length black dresses. Anna’s wedding gown’s dainty straps and subtle beading added another level of grace reminiscent of another time. The most beautiful detail of the day, though, was the love between bride and groom…that will never go out of style.
