The elegant outdoor venue set the tone for this chic black and white wedding full of lush, beautiful greenery. We’ve been seeing greenery everywhere this year thanks to Pantone, and are just as in love with it now as we were back in January. Anyone else excited to see what 2018 holds?! Sarah Kazemburg Events & Styling dreamt up this beautiful inspiration shoot with the timeless color palette in mind and the Virginia estate couldn’t suit it more perfectly. To incorporate some fun and modern elements, Sarah utilized a camper turned traveling bar for the cocktail hour and a gorgeous sleek gown to be worn by the bride. Below, she shares all the special details that went into bringing her dream vision to life.
Sarah says…
This inspiration shoot was designed around the concept of chic, understated elegance and lush greenery to compliment the gorgeous venue it took place in, Morven Park in Leesburg, VA. I love the idea of incorporating cocktails, food & a festive guest experience as the central focus of the wedding day by essentially making them part of the wedding design (more on that ahead!). I worked with Love Blooms DC to pull together a look for the table scape and floral design that was primarily black and white, with gold, greenery, and hints of pale blush accents. Bare Ink Co. created amazing hand lettered stationary, signage, menus and vellum place cards that added a touch of whimsy, but kept with the sleek, chic theme. Walnut Brentwood chairs added warmth to the table scape and pulled in the tones from the surrounding trees and brick walkway it stood on.
For our bride, I selected the Sarah Seven Orleans crepe gown, which had the most beautiful silhouette and the bright white looked so fresh and dreamy against the lush venue backdrop. The gown’s open back gave it just the right amount of edge, not too stuffy, and consistent with the overall concept of the shoot. Caitlyn Meyer created soft, romantic styles for the bride’s hair and makeup. Her loose, organic half-up hair style was completed with a stunning vintage gold clip from BHLDN. The bridal bouquet was another special detail, made up of garden roses, anemones, and greenery, tied with a black satin ribbon. Our groom looked handsome and sleek in a black suit and matte black shoes, with an anemone bout.
I imagined that this couple envisioned a laid back atmosphere that still felt luxe, with thoughtful details fused into the presentation of food & cocktails. I loved the idea of making the Cozy Caravan Club‘s vintage caravan bar a central feature. Paris Caterers decked out the caravan bar with delectable Cucumber Mint Gimlets with edible flowers and Basil Thyme Sparkers, the couples’ signature cocktails. Love Blooms DC added gorgeous floral installations around the caravan windows, creating the perfect spot for the newlyweds and guests to sip, mingle and take photos as they celebrated their special day.
After enjoying their cocktails, Joy Michelle captured our bride and groom taking a romantic stroll past the venue gates and around the manicured landscape of the venue. They made their way up to the mansion, where the black and white checkered patio and green shutters provided the perfect backdrop for newlywed portraits, and of course a few twirls!
This is absolutely stunning!
