Aw spring. We can see the light at the end of this cold winter, or at least, we hope we can thanks to Mr. Groundhog. But while it may not be here quite yet, we are living like it is thanks to this absolutely stunning bright spring wedding on our wedding blog today. It is completely inspired by florals, which is revealed through the stationery, the blush, silk taffeta floral wedding dress, and the floral arrangements – of course. Even the cocktails are floating with Ranunculus! And don’t get us started on that flower wall made up of completely English roses. Alright, there is a lot to see here, so we’re going to let you have it. Happy almost spring!
Let’s talk about this stationery! Jill Ryder at Shindig Bespoke shares, “With flowers being the theme of this bright spring wedding inspiration, I wanted to really let the actual living flowers themselves do the heavy lifting and have the paper goods support the theme without being too literal or matchy-matchy. I painted an impressionist backing for the invitation and menus, and decided on layers of colored vellum as overlays to subtly mimic the idea of overlapping petals.
The invitation had a frosted acrylic translucent overlay with their names, and then two colored vellum pieces sandwiched by a backing card with the same floral backing. The vellum pieces overlap to make a third color and the effect takes the classic floral look to a more funky, bright, and modern place. I chose a modern typestyle with minimal script to contrast with all the organic shapes and bright pops of color. The menus were my favorite part. I used the impressionist backing card with three layers of colored vellum for each course. The layers are pinned to the card with a rose gold grommet, so you can actually spin them to reveal the one underneath!”
Emily of
Emily Kotarski Bridal, the designer of this fabulous dress says, “The Peony dress is perfect for the bride who is looking to incorporate a unique and modern looking lace into a classic and feminine silhouette. The nude illusion bodice allows the
floral lace pattern to really pop and be the focal of the feminine style. While designing this dress, I wanted to focus on the unique detail of the
floral pattern which disappears into a beautiful, full aline skirt. The touch of blush lining is perfect for a springy, feminine bride.”
Tanya Bures at
Page Beauty, share, “To complement the vibrant florals, I layered a warm poppy red over a fuchsia pink lipstick and added a lip balm for a satin finish. The skin is fresh and luminous, and her eyes are layered in lashes for an ultra-feminine look.” Hair stylist, Zoraida Saray continues, “For the hair, we took a classic finger wave up-do and modernized it with texture throughout.”
Sherene Hulugalle at
Wisteria Lane Flowers, says of the flowers, “Pops of bright color” seems to be a trend with many brides! We designed the
flowers for this bright spring wedding
shoot around a cheerful palette with lots of open garden roses and ranunculus to add a soft and frilly texture. With the backdrop, we decided to keep the
floral colors a little more muted so the bride’s beautiful blush dress and her colorful bouquet could take center stage. One of the things we love is creating
floral pieces that are not perfectly symmetrical – like in nature.”
To end things on a sweet note, Jennifer Stonebarger at
Plumeria Cake Studio says, “The 4 tiers for this cake feature different textures in white with sugar lace appliqués, molded fondant roses, filigree, and a water-colored wafer paper tier in pastel peach and pink. The roses and ranunculus were all handcrafted from edible wafer paper and accented with hand-painted sugar rose leaves.”
