Black Tie Engagement Session

Pop open the champagne and get ready to enjoy this gorgeous, glamorous engagement session in a Georgia wood. We love the black tie style of the shoot, but that didn’t keep the bride & groom to-be from kicking off their shoes and cuddling up on the ground & dancing in the dirt. Simply Sarah Photography captured the couple beautifully in all their newly-engaged bliss. And that’s something to cheers to!

From Sarah, I loved capturing Alysha and Henry’s sweet love earlier this year. The way these two love each other is so inspiring and brings everyone around them such joy and I had the best time spending the afternoon watching how these two love another.

Here is their love story as told from Alysha:

I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and Henry is originally from Seattle. Both of our families relocated from the West Coast to Metro Atlanta the same year, in 2004. However, it wasn’t until Henry transferred to the same university as I in 2011 that we met.

First, Alysha met Fred (one of Henry’s best friends and roommate), They held small groups at their home and it became a frequented gathering place for our community. People would literally walk in the door at random, no invitation needed. We would just get together and play various instruments (guitar, keys, ukulele, cajon, banjo on occasion), and sing, laugh, and talk. All were welcome and we focused on Jesus in such an unrestricted and passionate, yet deeply mindful way. There was a strong sense of community among this group and it ended up being the very thing that drew us together. After just a few months of dating we were out in Atlanta one night and Henry whispered to me “you better marry me one day.” Swoon.

Sure enough, after three years of dating, he finally proposed! It was a beautiful evening with lights strung from the trees, lit torches and candles, and a rose-petal path. He presented me with the most beautiful ring that we designed together and I happily said, ” Yes!” We are very excited to be wed on the same day as our three and a half year anniversary and are planning to be wed at the local Atlanta Polo Club in May.
