Vintage glamour is abundant in this elopement straight out of the 1920s on our wedding blog today. And we love vintage glamour. With a team of pros behind them, this bride and groom donned jewels and a bowtie and tied the knot in flapping fashion – in the perfect art-deco venue we might add. They even created classic cocktails for the affair! Despite the details that take us to a different decade, this elopement is beautiful inspiration for any modern bride. Here’s how So Much Fun Events pulled it together!
Inspired by the 1920s, we wanted to show how stylish and romantic an elopement could truly be. A couple so in love they ran away, but never sacrificed the gorgeous details and decadent drinks in celebration. Polite Provisions, a craft cocktail bar, carried the concept with its marble counters, Art Deco statues, and wonderfully enchanting design details. MadMade Designs incorporated hand selected vintage pieces like rose gold plates, copper bowls, and brass candlesticks, while mixing in newly handcrafted short amethyst candles from Oftenwander.
Our Bride’s dress from The Dress Theory, had the perfect balance of vintage glamour while still remaining effortless. When we couldn’t decide between which of the many beautifully handcrafted rings, we choose to stack them as an alternative.
Then came the florals. Oh, so, dreamy. Bloom Babes brought it with the pops of plums and blush, while romantically draping greenery over a gorgeous hand-lettered canvas with “We fell in love so we ran away,” created by Type & Title.
The best part of planning this shoot was taste testing the delicious craft cocktails. We settled on the Veronica Rose [for her] and an Old Fashioned [for him]. Our vision was so about this idea of ending up in a bar, much like a speakeasy, drunk off love [or possibly those amazing cocktails]. If we could recommend anything to a couple eloping, it would be to not think you have to sacrifice fantastic design.
