Hotel Hotspot: Ritz Carlton Kapalua, Maui

Hawaii is one of our favorite destinations, and so when we got invited to spend the weekend at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua, we were all about it! As an added bonus, there was a wellness weekend retreat going on that weekend as well, so we were able to try new workout classes and (attempt to) work off all of the extravagant meals we had on-property!

Arriving to the Ritz Carlton is an experience within itself. We were greeted with homemade juice cocktails and beaded leis before we made our way to our residential suite. The rooms were incredible, but we knew after seeing the pool + beach view from the lobby, we weren’t going to be spending much time in the room! The first night included a mix & mingle cocktail hour with mini samples from all of the hotel restaurants. Afterwards, we headed to the Banyan Tree restaurant down by the pool for a delicious 4 course dinner!

The first morning we HIIT it hard with a high intensity workout with the trainers from Burlingame Fitness, and topped it off with a crossfit-style workout with the local Lahaina Crossfit group! Afterwards, we headed to the club lounge for a much needed buffet breakfast. Later that afternoon, we met up with the Ritz Carlton environmental group to go snorkeling in Kapalua Bay. A highlight of the entire trip was definitely swimming with the sea turtles there!!

We kicked off day 2 with a core class and buffet breakfast at the Terrace Lounge – so delicious! They even had Kombucha drinks and a DIY Bloody Mary bar. The rest of the day we spent at the beach and 3 tier pool with cocktails in hand. Hello, Hawaii. For dinner we met up at the on-site sushi restaurant – Kai Sushi. We ordered rounds of local sushi and sashimi and it was all so fresh and delicious!

On our last day in Kapalua, we took it easy on the workouts since we were still feeling a bit sore from the rest of the weekend. Instead, we relaxed at the pool, enjoyed the view from our suite, and napped on the beach! For lunch, we hit up the Burger Shack – a fun and casual restaurant right off the water. They have a “bikini burger” with a black bean and beet patty that was super yummy! For dinner we headed off-site to Merriman’s and had a 3 course meal with all local cuisine prepared by their amazing chef! We weren’t kidding about the extravagant meals!

There’s so much to do both at the resort and in the surrounding towns! This definitely makes the Ritz Carlton Kapalua one of our new favorite vacation hotspots!
