We’re loving your blog Chic Style by Sage!  What inspired you to start style blogging?

I’ve been an athlete my whole life but I’ve always had a creative mind and passion for clothing. I think it just runs in my blood though. My parents have been in the apparel business since I was a baby and currently own the company I work for called VOLA Sports Apparel. I’ve always been so infatuated and inspired by all aspects of the clothing business.

After playing collegiate soccer and then graduating, I opened a health & nutrition business of my own. Although this business venture was more than I hoped for, I still lacked a creative outlet. My friends were constantly encouraging me to start a blog so they could shop my wardrobe and see how I put everything together. The only problem was I had no idea how a blog worked, much less how I would create one from scratch. So I literally googled and was pleasantly surprised to have found so much joy interacting with both my readers & followers.

How would you describe your personal style?

It’s hard to put it in a nutshell because my style isn’t definite. I’m totally a tomboy at heart, however my inner girly-girl likes to make an appearance every now and then as well. It completely depends on the occasion and from there I just go with how I am feeling at that moment. I guess if one thing is consistent with my style it would be that I love to test the fashion boundaries and add a touch of edge. I always go for comfort, but I hate boring! I would describe myself as a risk taker and maybe it’s just my competitive nature, but I love to pull off a look that might seem impossible to most or one that involves pairing something extremely affordable with an expensive piece.

Summer is always so exciting fashion wise!  You get to break out the sandals and dresses and soak up the sun!  What are some of the summer staples you have in your closet?

What are five key pieces in your closet that you feel like you can repurpose every season, including summer?

It’s always hard to know the line to draw for what’s office appropriate for summer.  What pieces should you save for the beach?

For me this is challenging because my work place may be different than most out in the corporate world. I now work for an apparel company and am surrounded by creative people that understand current trends and being risky with fashion. Obviously sheer, lace, and cutouts are in this season but save the skin for the beach, babe! (P.S. A simple rule of thumb…usually if you’re having doubts on how inappropriate your outfit is, chances are you shouldn’t wear it!)

What trends are you loving right now that you can’t wait to rock this summer?

I’m loving all of the fun prints (especially palm prints), strappy sandals, sexy bralettes, statement clutches, and maxi dresses.
