From castles to unicorns, there is now shortage of magic at this Princess tea party on our baby blog today! If you are looking for 2nd birthday party ideas for girls, this is sure to inspire. Mama and party planner, Elizabeth, from Weddings by Eccentricity had envisioned this princess tea birthday party for her daughter long before she was born. Between a gold sequin photobooth, banners and lanterns overhead, and the cutest custom cookies, it’s fit for a queen! Without further ado, let us welcome you to the prettiest princess tea party around – don’t forget your personal teacup or unicorn goodie bag on your way out!
Elizabeth says, As soon as I found out I was pregnant with a little girl, I started thinking of all the lavish, girly parties I could throw her. From shopping to spa days, I knew we would have a special bond. Well before her first birthday, I knew I wanted to throw her a tea party, complete with unicorns, castles, and magic. I decided to wait until her 2nd party to break out the big guns, and throw her the perfect princess tea party I had dreamed of for her.
When my parents moved in to my great great great grandpa’s red house a few years ago, I instantly thought of the fun summer parties we could have on their beautiful lawn, drinking homemade lemonade on their big porch, spending summer evenings wrapped up in blankets. So naturally, it was the perfect backdrop for Arthemis’ tea party.
Ever since she was a baby we’ve called her Princess Bumbleberry, and that is just who she was for the day, a princess inviting all her friends to tea! Our sweet Arthemis was named after the greek goddess of the hunt and the moon. I really wanted to tie that in through my illustrations and color palette, yet still keep it whimsical and on theme with our sweet baby’s sassy personality.
Staying on theme with our strong feminine color palette, we stayed away from your typical unicorn pastels. Instead we went with a darker palette to compliment our venue. With eggplant, plum, twilight, dusty teal, sienna, burnt crimson, light sage and pear we had the perfect color variation. Topped with copper metallics.
What’s a tea party without tea sandwiches and pastries? The Cookie Bank provided the most amazing (and delicious) sugar cookies, for our full spread desert table with red velvet cupcakes, and a fluffy frosted cake. It was framed beautifully with a balloon installation from Something Frosted SLC.
Each attendee was able to pin the horn on the unicorn to win the block book of their choice! They searched the kingdom far and wide for magical objects in order to win their very own eye spy glitter jar. Meanwhile, the adults took silly pictures at the photo booth, and enjoyed fresh raspberry sangria. Each attendee big and small was gifted a teacup from Princess Bumbleberry herself, as both a place card, and favor, complete with a bag of custom herbal tea. Guests were able to carry their gifts home from the castle in their handmade unicorn bags!
Princess Bumbleberry’s party was a success, and all of her friends in the kingdom were able to come enjoy lawn games, tea and fun!
