We got pockets, got pockets full of sunshine. We got a love and we know that its all ours, oh whoa… This adorable sunshine birthday party theme was inspired by the birthday girl herself and her love for all things bright and happy. Her mom played off of that theme in the most creative way by bringing pockets full of sunshine to life. With all things rainbow – balloons, cake, and table settings – this party looks like it was shot in the clouds. Take me away, a secret place, a sweet escape, take me away… Keep scrolling to see all of the details that pop in photos from Roxanne McClure including unique and colorful florals from Catherine Anne Taylor Design.
Roxanne shares, Que all the rainbows, confetti and sweets in pastel hues, we’ve got a treat for you! This colorful sunshine birthday party is what little kids dreams are made of (and maybe mine too). Its getting warm, summer is on the way and over here we have nothing but pockets full of sunshine (literally)! This shoot was inspired by my daughters love for rainbows and sunny days. What’s not to love about the warmer weather and all the activities that come with it?!
I knew I wanted to make my own pockets so I found some old denim (eh hem, due to the pre-kiddo jeans that didn’t fit any more haha) and sewed pockets out of them. These pockets were easily glued to a board I painted and filled with the cutest sunshine cookies by Frost Your Cookie. The wall brings us nothing but happiness and was the perfect theme to run with.
To get the rainbow balloons to match our cute plates by Meri Meri Party I spray painted them. Yes, that’s correct….spray pained balloons! Easy and awesome for color matching! That color matching continues with pampas grass and imperfect fun florals throughout!! Kiddos snacked on magical rainbow grilled cheese hearts and cotton candy cones. What good is a bash without sweets?! Around here all we needed was sunshine color and cake…Specifically a cake that had enough sprinkles to create magic. We hope you find it as joyful as we did!
