We’re so excited to share this grey and yellow nursery on our baby blog today! We’re loving that the color palette works for a boy, girl, or even if you’re waiting to find out and need something gender neutral! Sada from Casa de Lewis did an amazing job of filling this sweet room with treasures from the fun thrifted furniture to the amazing book wall!
Hear her inspiration below and there’s links at the bottom if you want to buy a piece for your own home!
My husband and I decided early on that we wanted to keep the gender of our little one a surprise. When we told people this, one of the many comments that we got was – (GASP!) But how are you going to decorate the nursery?! I kind of laughed at this, brushed it off, and made it my goal to create a cute, gender neutral space! I also wanted the space to be calm, inviting, and cozy. I figured that in the first few months I would need a calm and inviting space more than my baby girl or boy needed gender specific decor! So I started by using a lot of neutrals throughout the room – grey walls, a white crib, grey seating, neutral drapes – and added in pops of color with the yellow painted dresser and art. The board books on display and toys also naturally added in color and interest to the room. We have loved having extra seating in the room and use it nightly as we read bedtime stories together. Our baby girl is 20 months old now and we have enjoyed so many wonderful memories in this room!
