Remember the book you used to read as a kid, ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?’ Well, this super mom decided to throw her son a Brown Bear first birthday party based on that very book – which also happens to be his favorite. Granted, she is a party planner in her own right, owning her own shop, Party Crush Studio, housing everything you could ever need for a party!
We’re a bit hard to sell on first birthday parties, because we believe they have to be impossibly cute (doesn’t your adorable one year old deserve that?!). But this soiree was an easy sell. From two – yes two! – dessert displays and custom everything to an adorable theme and even more adorable babe, it’s everything a birthday bash should be. And more!
Since having my son Luca, I knew one specific thing I wanted to incorporate for his first birthday. My inspiration was his favorite book By Bill Martin, Jr. ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?’
Also, I wanted the party to be modern, rustic, and dreamy just like my little Luca bear.
I went into full planning, design mode, and sourced some of the most adorable details from some of my favorite etsy shops. I tried to keep with the black and white color scheme with pops of mint, gray, and gold. And who says boys can’t have sequins? I handpicked some of my favorite table linens from my shop. Lastly, his godmother did the gorgeous flowers.
The party was set in our backyard so I decided to add my son’s favorite teepee and some of my sequin pillows from my shop’s collection. Our favorite details are definitely the bears, which symbolize our little guy, the gold high chair backdrop, which this momma spent days cutting and designing, and lastly the birthday boy, of course!
Finally, my good friend Jolene from Batter Up Cakery designed his dessert table, desserts, and custom made a beautiful wood backdrop. Her father and her spent many late nights building, painting and snooping through my Facebook to find the cutest baby pictures to surprise me with all my favorite stages of my Luca bear.
Boy birthday themes can be hard, but this Choo Choo train party is adorable too!
This is so cute!
What a cute theme idea!
Lucky Luca!
