For a designer’s baby shower, only an ornate theme and incredible decor will do! That’s exactly what Pamela Barefoot Events had in mind when collaborating on this Parisian baby shower inspired by Monet. Deep blue and bright pink hues combined to create a rich, gender-neutral color palette. The Monet theme was executed with watercolor elements and swan details that were beautifully subtle and soft. The florals, on the other hand, were dramatic and bold, bringing life to the tablescape, dessert display, and gift bed – yes an antique bed for guests to place gifts on! The shower is full of incredible ideas like that to leave you inspired and in awe…
The team shares, Having grown up in the DC area and being married in DC, it was fitting for Natalie’s baby shower to take place in the heart of the city, overlooking the Capitol at the beautiful Hay Adams Hotel. Natalie and her husband had honeymooned in Paris and fittingly chose Paris as the location of their babymoon before welcoming their first child. Pamela Barefoot Events (where Natalie is a designer) worked with Natalie’s mom and best friend to plan a baby shower that combined the creativity and style Natalie is known for. Inspired by Natalie’s trips to Paris and her love for The Musée Marmottan Monet, the shower quickly developed a Monet theme.
Light blue fabric draped across the ceiling, creating a watercolor sky, while an array of beautiful blooms floated on a deep blue tablecloth. Hand painted invitations and menus of a water scene with a mommy & baby swan continued the Monet theme. Swans were used throughout the day, from place cards to decor, to delicate swan cookies and an intricate swan-inspired cake. Since the baby’s gender was kept a surprise until birth, both blues and pinks were elegantly used throughout the design. To complete the artist theme, guests were invited to paint an “artful brushstroke” on a canvas for the baby as a keepsake. European elements were injected into the decor, such as the antique crib that displayed the gifts and an ornate vintage dresser for desserts.
We’re blown away! This black & blush Parisian baby shower is another beauty!
