The holidays are upon us and there is no shortage of spirit around here! We decorated (in early November!) in our signature white, pink, and gold. With all the decor already in place, we thought it was time to kick off the celebrations! To signify the start of the season, we hosted a winter wonderland holiday party.
And what pairs better with a holiday party than wine? We served up bottles of Chateau Ste. Michelle – on our very cute bar cart – and let the good times roll. By good times, we mean we dined on a warm and delicious holiday meal, chatted about all our upcoming festivities, and played countless rounds of Catch Phrase. Sound like fun yet?!
A big part of the fun was also in the decorating! First of all, we put on a holiday playlist, poured everyone a glass of Chateau Ste. Michelle 2015 Columbia Valley Chardonnay. We then began hanging stockings, ornaments, and more. We set the table in linen that looked like snow and baby pink, white, and silver Christmas trees. Then, we brought in gold, white, and silver tableware to make the table truly shine. The cherry on top? A sprinkle of pink & green confetti!
We were inspired by Chateau Ste. Michelle’s 10 Perfect Sips, to not take these little moments for granted, but instead enjoy and relish in them! We particularly love their Holiday party themes and additional lists and how a wine perfectly pairs with each. For us, a tree-decorating party was just right. Our perfect sip is enjoying great wine while we decorate the tree.
After setting the table and decorating the tree, the fun continued! We adorned our bar cart with our favorite Chateau Ste. Michelle wines and plenty of festive decor! It took a while to turn our space into a true winter wonderland, so it was time to break out a bottle of Chateau Ste. Michelle 2014 Columbia Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Tip: you can also serve your party wine in a decanter if you have one you’ve been waiting to bring out. Because we were showcasing ours on a gold & lucite bar cart, we decided to pour the wine from this gold polka dot decanter. Cute, right?!
Final touches involved adding gold & silver garland, party-ready coasters, and pink candy canes. Lastly, don’t forget to chill your white wines, such as the Sauvignon Blanc and Chateau Ste. Michelle 2015 Columbia Valley Pinot Gris on ice. We set out a gold & white ice bucket so as not to forget!
Once we finished decorating it was time to enjoy the meal we prepared! We then moved on to a delicious red wine, Chateau Ste. Michelle 2013 Indian Wells Cabernet Sauvignon. We highly recommend topping off any holiday party with our nearest and dearest with a great wine. The Chateau Ste. Michelle 2013 Indian Wells Red Wine Blend is another one of our favorites.
We also love pairing red wine with a white winter wonderland party because it brings warm, rich color to the table! Serve it in glassware that matches your decor, such as gold rimmed glasses. Even better? Serve it in festive stemless glasses that you can send guests home with as a party favor!
