New Orleans Calligraphy Workshop

You know all those gorgeous calligraphed wedding invitations, totes, and signs you see? Probably done by Laura Hooper Calligraphy. We’re sharing her New Orleans Workshop on our lifestyle blog today – and not only is it fun & creative, but it’s beautiful too! Thanks to design by Tying the Knot Wedding Coordination. They really incorporated the Southern city into the menu and decor, and we love it. The bright white venue was the perfect canvas for the white & gold event – accented with pretty green plants of course.

From Elyse of Tying the Knot…

I designed the workshop to introduce the attendees from near and far to true Southern charm in New Orleans! With the all white palate of Greer’s studio, we chose to keep a warm, comfortable and minimalistic style with our bentwood furniture and white linens from Event Rental. As the attendee’s first arrives, they knew they were in the right place by the LH made out of magnolia leaves. At each of their seats, we added a tea stained gauze runner to go under their workshop materials! Atop their supplies, we had Laura write each attendee’s name on a magnolia leaf and added a fragrant gardenia! The floral decor incorporated the same fragrant gardenias, magnolia leaves and other green foliage from Bee’s Weddings and Special Events.

Because it’s New Orleans, we had to make sure that they had a special treat of shrimp remoulade mini poor boys and ambrosia petit fours! I’m convinced they learned calligraphy that much better with full bellies sitting in the beautiful and sweet smelling studio!
