Whether you love Halloween or not, we guarantee you’ll love this moody fall table! Although the set-up couldn’t be more perfect for Halloween, many of its elements can easily inspire any fall or Thanksgiving table as well. Thanks to skulls & and a haunted house cake topper, and deep red dahlias & copper candlesticks, it is as pretty as it is spooky! (Bet you never thought you’d read those two words in the same sentence!) Chrissy, of lifestyle blog Harlowe James, strived for a unique point of view, designing the Halloween table with sophistication in mind. Would you dare to dine at this dinner?? We know we would!
Chrissy says, Halloween can often be an overly themed holiday filled with black, orange and pumpkins galore, but sometimes a simple moody set up can make a huge impact. Fall in Northern California can have an array of different types of weather, but on a crisp fall afternoon I like to bring the gatherings outdoors. Bringing the table outside instantly creates a soft backdrop for such a dramatic look layered in dark linens and moody florals. To really layer the table, I mixed metals such as brass vases and copper candle holders which helped to offset all of the black. I Also played with different scale patterns such a large buffalo check runner and thin ticking stripe napkins. This added interest without being too overbearing. This sophisticated set up is perfect for a small Halloween dinner, al fresco style.
