We know it’s Christmas Eve Eve, but we’re betting not ALL you’re gifts are wrapped and ready under the tree yet. So for all the procrastinators out there (we are speaking to ourselves as well!) this DIY holiday gift wrap is for you! We promise it won’t take you much longer than wrapping with store bought paper – and it’s cheaper too! We love this idea because it adds a unique and thoughtful touch to the special gifts you pick out. With a bundle of supplies you most likely already own, you can whip out wrapping that they’ll love just as much as the gift inside! See us share this DIY over on Momtastic today too and don’t forget to watch the video how-to!
What You Need:
Brown Paper Bag
Paint (We chose a festive combination of red, green, and gold)
Tape
Scissors
Directions:
1. Cut a brown paper bag so that it is in one long sheet of paper – you can use grocery bags or lunch bags depending on the size of the box.
2. Wrap your gift with the solid brown paper showing on the outside.
3. Now, with your wrapped gift as a blank canvas, paint brush strokes onto the paper. We chose a diagonal pattern that layered the three colors but feel free to get creative! It’s best to use one color at a time with this pattern and paint consecutively (without leaving time to dry) so that the colors blend a little bit.
4. Tie with string and add a little fern for decor, and your finished! Place under the tree and admire your creation!
