Lobster Bake Birthday Party

This nautical birthday party is nothing short of a summer dream! Hosted at a Maine yacht club, what better to kick off the celebrations than a good old fashioned lobster bake? Firefly Events executed the 4oth birthday weekend beautifully, but beyond the impeccable decor, it looks like a whole lot of fun! We imagine ourselves spending a summer eve sipping Sauvignon Blanc, shucking oyesters, and staring off into the sun as it sets over the coastline – sounds pretty idyllic doesn’t it?

Firefly Events shares, To kick off this 40th birthday weekend celebration, we welcomed guests with a lobster bake at the rustic yacht club in the beach community of Prouts Neck, Maine. We were lucky enough to work with a dream team of vendors to put together a night that was full of personal touches, delicious food, and a ton of fun for all.

The Hostess Haven created indigo dip dyed napkins that we paired with blue and white pressed glass goblets and copper flatware. Instead of floral centerpieces, Nettle and Stone adorned the tables with locally foraged seaweed and shells, paired with plenty of candle light.

Some of our other favorite highlights from the evening include a “boozy bike” at cocktail hour, providing guests with a roving mini bar, custom lobster bibs and menus (which doubled as escort cards!) and the amazing lobster traps that were presented at each table.

During dinner, a film created by the family for this special occasion, was presented to the guest of honor. Guests were also treated to a New Orleans style jam band for dance breaks between courses.
