From Melissa…
We wanted to have a family style dinner party to celebrate the end of summer and to thank some of our best customers for their continued business. Of course, we had to put a fun twist on it. So we decided to go with a Grecian theme. We envisioned all of the ladies in white dresses with gold leaf crowns and the men in white shirts and khaki pants, all barefoot of course! What better place for a beautiful Grecian dinner than the beach front! As guests arrived they were greeted by a gorgeous urn of Mediterranean inspired flowers and a beautiful sign draped with olive branches that led them down a stairway to the beach front table setting.
We set the table with white and gold plate ware. Each place setting was topped with a beautiful personalized menu and floral spray. We used some fabulous gold utensils supplied by Ultrapom and had beautiful mismatched goblets and wine glasses at each setting from Rent Chicago. The place settings were completed with a mini bottle of hand-selected Grecian olive oil from The Olive Tap, which doubled as a take home gift. We loved using a white and gold color palate to allow the foods vibrancy to stand out! It was a true feast, with everything from colorful Greek salad, Greek tacos, souvlaki, Greek potatoes, spanakopita pizza and goat cheese cigars. We also set up a hand-made bar and served ouzo and cola, honey and lemon sage martinis and Prosecco. We set up after-dinner games of bocce ball and horse shoes games for the guests to play as we set up the desserts!
