Have we got a treat (or two) for you! Royale Ziegler, of But First, Party! got together with Rachel Huntington, of Bonjour Fete, to throw a pretty rockin’, fun, and playful cactus party for a big ol’ group of gals. It’s full of colorful decor, plenty of puns, and lots of cacti of course! We can’t decide which we love more, the decked out Mexican cocktails or the cacti covered cake! You choose –
Royale says, Rachel and I wanted to host the lovely ladies of Hey Mama for a fun-filled night of sips and chips. As far as design, we were super inspired by all things cacti. We used the minty and coral colors of these plates as a jumping off point for palette and also tried to keep our fiesta as pastel as possible. Fortunately, Bonjour Fete carries every cute cactus product on the market, so I had my pick of cactus candles, neon lights, and piñatas to play with, and even created a cacti balloon garden in the front window.
We also tried to mix in traditional elements of a Mexican fiesta. We hung custom Lula Flora “Hey Mama” papel picado banners, and further incorporated this print with the dinner plates, napkins and straw flags. For florals, Wildflora mixed in limes as a nod to the Margaritas we were serving, and created beautiful bright arrangements for the table, which was a stunning setup from Wild Heart Rentals. The mini cacti were perfect favors, especially after we popped them into pink pots and encouraged guests to “take their prick!”
For dessert, Whisk and Whittle whipped up the most succulent cactus cake and cupcakes we have ever seen! Meanwhile The Cookie Crafter and Star Bakes created lemon and lime, as well as piñata and maraca cookies respectively. Haute Chefs prepared a super delicious and sophisticated taco bar–the pickled pineapple was a crowd favorite. Other crowd pleasers were the ‘Hey Mamarita’ and ‘Pink Paloma’ cocktails we sipped throughout the night. Cheers!
Adorbs!
Love the cake!
