These DIY linens were dip dyed with natural coloring from blueberries and tumeric by ‘Cause We Can Events & Amber Events! They created table cloths, coasters, napkins, and name tags – perfect for entertaining! Here’s how to mimic their fun tabletop style:
What You Need:
Water
Large jar
Large bowl
Ground Turmeric
Fresh Blueberries
Scissors // Fabric Scissors
Seed Paper
Large white or ivory fabric (Goodwill is a great place to look)
String
Clothes Pins

Instructions:
For the tablecloth:
1. Boil 1 cup of water and mix in fresh blueberries
2. dip the ends of the tablecloth into the solution and let the fabric absorb the color – you can let the fabric sit in the dye for longer for a darker color.
3. Squeeze out the excess water and drape over a table to dry!

For the napkins and coasters:
1. Trace seed paper circles with the top of a mason jar lid (or small bowl if you want them bigger)
2. In a metal pot, boil 1 cup of water and mix in 1-2 tbs of turmeric (this is my personal guestimate). Stir.
3. Keep the turmeric solution low and stir occasionally.
4. One by one, dip your seed paper circles in the turmeric solution and place on a flat surface (cardboard works)
*TIP: Seed paper absorbs quickly and the yellow color may climb up the paper a bit so don’t dip too far in
5. Make yourself a clothes line with string and pin your dipped circles next to each other. Make sure to protect the floor underneath with some old towels or cardboard.
6. Let dry overnight.
7. Once dry, stamp away! We’ve used these for quotes, escort cards and wedding favors. Have fun!
