Want to read a book, but don’t know which one to read and already finished our June reading list? We have gathered up our favorites, so you don’t have to go searching. So, curl up or lay out and pick up one of these books on our July summer reading list. Happy reading!
The Assistants by Camille Perri
You know it will be a great novel when The Skimm dubs this read “‘Ocean’s Eleven’ meets ‘The Devil Wears Prada.”‘ Former books editor at Cosmopolitan and Esquire magazines, Camille Perri is not new to the writing world. Readers everywhere will be captivated by her gripping and relatable tale about the implications of a thirty-year-old assistant who takes advantage of her boss’ bank account to pay off her student loans. And we are hooked.
Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler
Sink your teeth into this addictive, delicious read. Danler’s debut novel centers around 22-year-old Tess who ventures to New York for opportunity and excitement. Spontaneously, she lands a job as a waiter at one of Manhattan’s most ritzy restaurants. As the novel progresses, Tess finds herself developing a matured palette for the culinary world and a better understanding of herself.
The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer
This novel is going to be anything but a trainwreck. If you enjoy Amy Schumer as much as we do, you will be pre-ordering this August. 16th release in a heartbeat. The entertaining autobiography recounts some of her most noteworthy moments and provides readers with the opportunity to take a peek into the comedic genius that is Amy Schumer. Personally, we cannot wait to crack it open (we just hope it is as funny as it looks)!
Straub, the author of the reclaimed novel, The Vacationers, epitomizes the transition from youth to adulthood with her quirky, coming-of-age novel. She tells the story of two tight-knit families who simultaneously experience the complexity of relationships and reality. This all too relatable, witty read reminds us of our own lives and compels us to look introspectively.
Did someone say expecto patronum? We can’t believe it either. The eighth novel in the Harry Potter series, this book acts as the script to London’s hottest new play. The play will debut July 30 and will surround the story of the now grown-up, Harry Potter, along with his son, Albus, as they contend with the reality that evil is omnipresent. *insert theme song here. We know. We are itching to read it as well.
